It's important to me not just what I do, but how I do it. When we work together, I always lean on the following principles. They might go some way to explaining why people say it 'feels different' to work with me than other strategists or facilitators.
I believe in tools, not rules. Frameworks are useful, but theory should never trump practicality or the nuances of any situation.
Everything exists as an ecosystem. If you want to affect change, this can only effectively be achieved by considering the interconnected nature of things.
Every solution should stand, work, and be beautiful. This means everything should be robust, be useful, and a joy to engage with.
Positive outcomes can only be effective by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the humans involved and effected—particularly those with less power.
I do what I do because I love it but never hurts to have others appreciate your work, too. Below are some of the awards and opportunities I've been lucky enough to receive.
